[FOWA]: Fireside chat with special guest, Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg
(by the way: Adobe Air competition was won by a French guy building some structured feedback tool for designers)
Now, I wonder if I will find out why this Zuckerberg-Hype is so huge…
- Facebook has 400’000 developers
- Excited about Facebook Connect
- What apps would make best use of the Facebook newsfeed? >Apps that produce ongoing engagement (oh, really?)
- The goal of Facebook is: share more information!
- Over the last 4 years people started sharing more and more information.
- Is Facebook gonna support share-location features? >yes, but no specific info given
- Facebook has 700+ employees
- Facebook wasn’t started off to be sold, but to achieve it’s goal
- Growth of Facebook seems fast, but company was kept as small as possible
- tries to keep “DNA” of Facebook technical. All employees have technical background
- Where’s Facebook gonna be in 2 or 5 years? More graphical reorganizing, more mobile activity.
- How to shift from developer to enterpreneur? He still works on the code once in a while. Have good people around you who do a good job.
Alright then… nothing very interesting unless maybe for real Facebook addicts. I still don’t get the hype. C’mon, he was lucky! Right product at the right time.
